The Thing review

Posted : 12 years, 2 months ago on 21 February 2012 04:00 (A review of The Thing)

The movie started with a promise, with Norwegian Scientist found something unique in Antarctica. However the movie gradually lost it grip, at least for me and turn into insanity, with alien life form mutating and imitating humans and the scientists and workers on the base had to run for their lives.

I like Sci Fi but The Thing suggesting a Prequel, the way it ended didnt appeal to me and the IMDB & Listal Ratings are the manifestation of masses, I presume.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo review

Posted : 12 years, 2 months ago on 19 February 2012 03:05 (A review of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo)

Based on a Swedish Novel published in 2005, made its English Debut in 2008.

This recent 2011 adaption is quite a gripping one, which has made his way to Oscars Nomination for 2012.

While the film’s two hour and 38 minute run-time is likely to turn off some moviegoers who don’t enjoy sitting that long for one movie in a theater, it’s hard to imagine any onscreen scene or exchange that doesn’t belong in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and that is the beauty of the movie that keep the viewers gripped and mystified under the story line.

This movie without question one of the most provocative films of 2011 – and will deliver a compelling ride for die-hard fans of the book series, dramatic thriller enthusiasts, as well as anyone who enjoys Fincher’s darker works.

The Artist review

Posted : 12 years, 2 months ago on 18 February 2012 12:57 (A review of The Artist)

Simply Superb, Magical, Spell Bounding & Marvelous.

I must one of the strongest contender for the OSCARS this year. From the word GO, since the opening title rolled out for one and half hour the movie is pure magic. A silent, black-and-white romantic comedy, Story of pride, ego, self esteem, change, highs and lows, love and care.

Any movie lover should not miss this one.

Happy Feet Two review

Posted : 12 years, 2 months ago on 17 February 2012 01:31 (A review of Happy Feet Two)

Great movie may not be upto the mark of Happy Feet, its predecessor, but a family treat. The movie returns audiences to the magnificent landscape of Antarctica, embracing the audience with the famous tap-dancing penguin, Mumble, the love of his life, Gloria and their old friends Ramon and Lovelace.

Happy feet two earmarked Erik, son of Mumble and Gloria, who is struggling to find his own particular talents. With new dangers are loaming the penguin nation, it's going to take everyone working--and dancing--together to save them.

Side by side to Penguins there are Bill & Will to grace the show.

A story about trying to save the penguin population from a lack of food caused by global warming.

The Big Year review

Posted : 12 years, 2 months ago on 6 February 2012 09:21 (A review of The Big Year)

Well the rating of the movie, "The Big Year" may not be very promising at Listal as well as IMDB, but I like the movie. The movie is about passion of BIRDING and it shows how Steve Martin, Jack Black and Owen Wilson cope up their personal life with the strong passion of not only birding but to win the big year race. The movie also touched on how some people loose a lot while persuing their passion.

The Big Year a film uniting formidable comedy triumvirate of Steve Martin, Jack Black and Owen Wilson. The story tracks three men embarking on a 'Big Year', a 365-day mission to spot the most birds across the United States of America, each of them has something to prove.

Well I must say the movie may not be outstanding, keeping the BIG TRIO in the cast but it worth giving a shot.

Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol review

Posted : 12 years, 3 months ago on 4 January 2012 02:24 (A review of Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol)

Well finally I have visited the theatre in city screening Mission Impossible : Ghost Protocol and guess what, my worst fear again materialized. As happened with most of the sequels this movies MI-IV at least didn't make me to come to the edge of my seat. It was not worst but it was not phenomenal either. I feel the movie didn't keep pace with the earlier movies.

Anyway this time Tom and his team end up in a big mess, starting with murder of one of their team mate and bombing of Kremlin. The events leads to shutting down of IMF and now its upto Tom and his team to clear the mess and redeem the honor and pride.

Apollo 18 review

Posted : 12 years, 4 months ago on 30 December 2011 09:34 (A review of Apollo 18)

"Apollo 18" is a faux found-footage documentary-style thriller about a secret lunar mission. Claimed to be edited from 84 hours of footage recently uploaded to the Internet on [Link removed - login to see], by whom, it is not stated. By the way I could not be able to open that particular website even after umpteenth attempts.

"Apollo 18" would have viewers believe that this is the true story of how NASA and the Department of Defense sent a secret final manned mission to the moon in 1974 after the lunar program had been officially shut down. What the astronauts found there has been kept under wraps ever since.

The possibility of being stuck on the moon in the wilderness of space i.e. a couple of astronauts stuck in a landing pod anxiously trying to figure out what to do.

Anyway hidden truth or figment of an imagination, the story is gripping, however with some techincal glitches that support the later. Would be on the watch list of space movie lovers

The Change-Up (2011) review

Posted : 12 years, 4 months ago on 26 December 2011 04:52 (A review of The Change-Up (2011) )

The grass on other side always seems more green, so is true in many cases of life where one feels that the life of others is more pleasing and comforting as compared to personal life.

Similiar is a catchy story of two friends in "The Change Up" when they got fascinated with life of one another wishing to have the same. Guess what it happens and then the story which unfolds is full of repent, fun, longing and confusion.

Masses may not like this movie, but I enjoyed watching this movie, maybe because I watched a comedy movie after quite sometime.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind review

Posted : 12 years, 4 months ago on 24 December 2011 08:15 (A review of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind)

A weired kind of love story but a touching one. The movie may not have touched the heart of masses but is a mind boggling, dramatic masterpiece.

A tale of two love birds have a chemistry for each other. Although they got erased their memories of one another but they fall again for one another.

Joel (Carrey) is stunned to discover that his girlfriend Clementine (Winslet) is no more intrested in him. Out of desperation, he contacts the memory eraser to scratch every tiny bit of his past time with Clementine. The inventor of the process, Dr. Howard Mierzwiak (Wilkinson), started removing Joel memory as requested, but as Joel's memories progressively disappear, he begins to rediscover his love for Clementine.

A good movie to watch.
