American Reunion review

Posted : 11 years, 11 months ago on 30 May 2012 04:11 (A review of American Reunion)

American Reunion brings the original Pie gang back at a time where the actors are well (and visibly) past their own younger years.

The story keeps with real-world time and sees Jim (Jason Biggs), his wife Michelle (Alyson Hannigan), and friends Kevin (Thomas Ian Nicholas), Oz (Chris Klein), Finch (Eddie Kaye Thomas) and Stifler (Seann William Scott) all back in East Great Falls for their 13-year high school reunion.

After three films, 'Reunion' should have graduated up to bigger and better things.

Man on a Ledge review

Posted : 11 years, 11 months ago on 27 May 2012 03:41 (A review of Man on a Ledge)

"Man on the Ledge" a title that explains the crux of the movie. Anescaped convict Nick Cassidy (Sam Worthington) re-surfaces in an expensive Manhattan hotel, and suddenly steps out onto the ledge outside his window. It seems that Nick is intent on ending his life, but a series of curious decisions lead disgraced police negotiator Lydia Mercer (Elizabeth Banks) to discern that this mysterious jumper is actually a part of something much bigger.

That “something” involves Nick’s former life as a prominent NYPD cop who was convicted of stealing from ruthless businessman Deavid Englander (Ed Harris), and paid the price with a long prison sentence. With the help of his brother Joey (Jaime Bell) and Joey’s girlfriend Angie (Genesis Rodriguez), Nick tries to get justice for the supposed wrong done to him. But with a target on his head and the whole city watching, how does one desperate man find redemption?

A THRILLER to Watch

Battleship review

Posted : 11 years, 11 months ago on 27 May 2012 01:13 (A review of Battleship)

The story of Battleship revolves around Alex Hopper (John Carter star Taylor Kitsch), a smart, capable, and totally reckless young man who is chaperoned by his older brother and guardian. And as usually happens in fantasy world of movies when the situation demands the best came out of reckless persons and make them a hero from zero.

Signed into navy and raising to the ranks for lieutenant, the carefree attitude continued till he got a chance to participate in Naval Exercises and all of sudden found himself in a leading role when the earth got attacked by Aliens from Planet G and the rest is the tale of his out of the skin performance in crisis much similar to the one in John Carter.

The movie has some amazing visual effects and the hi fi battle gadgets of aliens.

Grave of the Fireflies review

Posted : 11 years, 11 months ago on 20 May 2012 05:11 (A review of Grave of the Fireflies)

A heart torn story, animation movie about a young boy and little sister in the wake of World War II. The plot of the movie is Wonderful tear-jerker based on semi autobiographic novel by Nosaka Akiyuki.

In the final months of World War 2, the teenage boy Seita and his four-year-old sister Setsuko lose their home and their mother during an air raid on their home town. They start to live at their aunt’s, but Seita refuses to do “productive work” as he wants to devote all of his strength to making the war bearable for his sister. After a quarrel with their relatives, the children move out to live on their own. But caring for the two of them proves too much for a boy of only fourteen years. A heart torn story of what the war can brought to human beings, specially little orphan kids, one can't stop the tears rolling down the cheeks while watching the movie and feeling the pain, anguish and suffering of the symbolic two kids, finally finding solace in the arms of death being starved and no one in the cruel world going to bail them out.

Killer Elite review

Posted : 11 years, 11 months ago on 15 May 2012 06:10 (A review of Killer Elite)

Killer Elite may satisfy a lot of Jason Statham fans. Even though there are a quite a few heavy-hitting action set-pieces, Killer Elite is a narrative mess that turns pretty straight-forward plot with loads of bizarre character relationships and added “drama” in an attempt to elevate the film beyond a throwaway action experience.

The basic plot of Killer Elite is stereotype, contract killer Danny Bryce (Jason Statham) attempts to get out of the “game” after a job in Mexico turns ugly. That is, until his closest friend and mentor, Hunter (Robert De Niro) is captured by a rich Oman sheikh. In order to free his friend, Bryce must succeed in completing Hunter’s assignment – to kill three British Special Air Service (SAS) agents responsible for murdering the sheikh’s three oldest sons in cold blood

It’s a pretty basic plot – until the film attempts to pull in a series of side stories, including government conspiracy, a secret society, and even a romantic through-line.

Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance review

Posted : 11 years, 11 months ago on 6 May 2012 04:51 (A review of Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance)

even the magic of Nicolas Cage didn't do the trick. This time the bone of contention is the bone of contention is a child half devil, half man and both the parties are after him and in between the story is the fillers.

The Scorpion King 3: Battle for Redemption (2012) review

Posted : 11 years, 11 months ago on 6 May 2012 01:13 (A review of The Scorpion King 3: Battle for Redemption (2012))

Scorion King is there is to salvage his pride, going to prevent the curse from unleashing when two brothers came at war. Not an appealling movie, at least for me. The rating of the movies at IMDB & Listal also manifest the same. One more thing that movie a fun rather than captivating is that Mathayus has changed in every film. The story doesn't seem to know what it wants to be, never fully connecting the narrative to the prologue for The Scorpion King seen in The Mummy Returns.

Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows review

Posted : 11 years, 11 months ago on 5 May 2012 09:35 (A review of Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows)

Being a avid fan of Sherlock Holmes, finally I got hold of this movie of Serlock Holmes,A Game of Shadows. Movie is a good one , but the only problem is the performance of Jared Harris, whose dialogue delivery is same as in his series of FRINGE.

Sherlock Holmes supposed to be the smartest man existed till a new criminal mastermind mathematician, at large—Professor Moriarty—and not only is he Holmes' intellectual equal, but his capacity for evil, coupled with a complete lack of conscience, may actually give him an advantage over the renowned detective.

Now it is a cat and mouse game rather a game of shadows between the two.
